Teen Angst? Naaah...

I'm reading the book Teen Angst? Naaah... by Ned Vizzini and I really think that it has a big meaning to it. This book is a " quasi-autobiography " on how the Ned writes about what's it like to be a teen nerd from junior high to his senior in high school. The main character Ned is in a way special. He is very smart and wanted to get into the specialized high schools. When he finally got his results and find out that he got into Stuyvesant he doesn't have a much enthusiastic response. I think he must feel this way because he though he could have done better. It doesn't say in the book what score he got but the results to him was a let down. That could be the author secret message. This book was predictable in the younger days of Ned but later on he had to worry about peer pressure, embarrassment, obsessions, kissing, turning 18, SAT tests, college rejections. Could that all affect how he does?

The Lost Hero but is he really? ( Spoiler Alert )

The Lost Hero is a book by Rick Riordan the author of The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. It doesn't have Percy as the main character but revolves around 3 new half-bloods. There is Jason who wakes up on a school with no memories of himself and who he is. Then he finds out that he has a best friend and a girlfriend. When I first read this I thought that maybe Jason was required and was suppose to have no memories so he doesn't do anything that would cause harm. As I read on he was different then the others and that he came from another camp from the Roman aspect which explained how he knew Roman fluently.

Piper McLean seems different from the other campers as well. When they first got to camp, Annabeth told her that all the fun memories was not real and all done by the Mist. If I was told that it would feel strange because if you did all those stuff wouldn't you have known?  Even though she is the daughter of Aphrodite, she doesn't want to accept it. As in the book she refuses to wear the clothes from the blessing of Aphrodite and the makeup which would keep going on no matter what she does. In her dreams the giants blackmail her to betray her friends so she can save her dad and feels that no matter how hard she tries, people will eventually find out that she would be like Silena Beauregard the traitor. Piper is not the same as most Aphrodite girls but will stick to her friends even if she was in trouble.

Leo Valdez is the son of Hephaestus and has the ability to conjure and withstand fire which is a rare ability. He is unsure of what to do and what is his purpose. He feels like the only one that isn't special and looks at Jason with jealously. Throughout the book he see thats he is special and helps out his friends in various ways like building Festus the bronze dragon, and freeing Hera.
