Go watch some lights, freak....

So far I am reading The Demonata #2: Demon Thief. It is about this kid named Kernel who has an ability to be able to see patches of light. He can touch it and move it around. He mentions it to his parents and teachers but assumed crazy and then constantly ignored. People around him see him as a freak and treat him the same way. He moves to a new place in the country called Paskinston away from the city. Even though people there are different, is Kernel happy with the way it is?
I think Kernel feels uneasy because he thinks that he doesn't fit in and is out of place like a vegetable in a group of candy. Everything around him starts to change when the demon Cadaver came in to the the human world and stole his brother Art. Even though all thats happened, he did belong somewhere which was with the Disciples.
I can connect with Kernel in a way because he always felt different for mostly his entire life before he met the Disciples.

Harry Potter 7 and the very last

Harry Potter 7 by J.K.Rowling was a book and movie that I recently read and watched. I looked at which character had the most interesting characteristics. I focused more on Ron because he had one that surprised me. On the quest to find all the Horcruxes, he suddenly left to go back to his family to see how they were doing. That was surprising because Ron knew he could have possibly jeopardized the whole quest. I thought that his decision was because he cared very much for his family and even if the world is conquered by You-Know-Who, at least he would still be with his family.
In my own personal life I know that in life friends go but family would always be with you. I have always try to keep them close because maybe in the future friends can't or won't help you in problems and leave you alone. I have learned that family always comes first.

Teen Angst? Naaah...

I'm reading the book Teen Angst? Naaah... by Ned Vizzini and I really think that it has a big meaning to it. This book is a " quasi-autobiography " on how the Ned writes about what's it like to be a teen nerd from junior high to his senior in high school. The main character Ned is in a way special. He is very smart and wanted to get into the specialized high schools. When he finally got his results and find out that he got into Stuyvesant he doesn't have a much enthusiastic response. I think he must feel this way because he though he could have done better. It doesn't say in the book what score he got but the results to him was a let down. That could be the author secret message. This book was predictable in the younger days of Ned but later on he had to worry about peer pressure, embarrassment, obsessions, kissing, turning 18, SAT tests, college rejections. Could that all affect how he does?

The Lost Hero but is he really? ( Spoiler Alert )

The Lost Hero is a book by Rick Riordan the author of The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. It doesn't have Percy as the main character but revolves around 3 new half-bloods. There is Jason who wakes up on a school with no memories of himself and who he is. Then he finds out that he has a best friend and a girlfriend. When I first read this I thought that maybe Jason was required and was suppose to have no memories so he doesn't do anything that would cause harm. As I read on he was different then the others and that he came from another camp from the Roman aspect which explained how he knew Roman fluently.

Piper McLean seems different from the other campers as well. When they first got to camp, Annabeth told her that all the fun memories was not real and all done by the Mist. If I was told that it would feel strange because if you did all those stuff wouldn't you have known?  Even though she is the daughter of Aphrodite, she doesn't want to accept it. As in the book she refuses to wear the clothes from the blessing of Aphrodite and the makeup which would keep going on no matter what she does. In her dreams the giants blackmail her to betray her friends so she can save her dad and feels that no matter how hard she tries, people will eventually find out that she would be like Silena Beauregard the traitor. Piper is not the same as most Aphrodite girls but will stick to her friends even if she was in trouble.

Leo Valdez is the son of Hephaestus and has the ability to conjure and withstand fire which is a rare ability. He is unsure of what to do and what is his purpose. He feels like the only one that isn't special and looks at Jason with jealously. Throughout the book he see thats he is special and helps out his friends in various ways like building Festus the bronze dragon, and freeing Hera.

Social Justice, Actions, and Change

Have you ever feel like things are happening at the wrong time?
Like you do something and someone else gets all the credit.
In Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Sea of Monsters
by Rick Riordan that exactly happened. I first thought that
everything was going to go fine until later in the book where
action usually occurs. I was surprised that trouble had happened
so fast. I mean right after Percy came out of his school attacked by
Laistrygonians a group of giant cannibals he witnesses his camp
being attacked.
I noticed that even though Tyson and him saved the camp, the new
activity director gave the credit to Percy's rival Clarisse. Percy didn't
have any power to do anything and if he tried it would just mean
punishment.Everyone is different in a way and not the same. It didn't
assume that everyone is happy and good.
Some bad things that happens in the book is like the environment and
how animals and plants get sick. That is the same in the real world but
not with a golden fleece able to fix it.

The Demonata Lord Loss by Darren Shan

This book was an amazing book and different than many other
books. It hadn't started off normally but exciting  getting readers
hooked into the book. For example in chapter 2 already It starts
off so viciously and shocking. There's was already so much details
of the demons that I had to read slow just to get all of that. It was
like the author Darren Shan wanted us to know that this book was
going to be different then his old series and that the villains were
nothing alike. They had no emotions, no hearts, and cruel with evil!
One thing I really liked about this book is that it doesn't show Grubbs'
parents that much. It was only in the first 2 chapter. I believe that
it was on purpose and the reason is too not be attached to those
characters. That would have disappointed me if I really attached
and then killed. Though it did create suspense and I wondered what
Grubbs was going to do.
This book definitely grossed me out but it was awesome.

Lake of Souls Reading Response( Spoiler Alert )

Lake of Souls by Darren Shan is the 10 book of the Cirque Du Freak series.
I thought that this was one of my favorite book of the series because in this
book it doesn't go along with the main plot. I feel that Darren Shan has his
characters start off with a normal life and then one day their lives change.
So most of his books are similar. This book is like a journey or quest with
Darren as the hero and a quest to stop the vampaneze.
Every character does something that affects everyone. For example when
Mr.Crepsley was killed by Steve, Darren's lust for revenge grew stronger.
I thought that it was important that even though Darren wasn't suppose to
help Harkat to his journey to the Lake of Souls, he knew that Harkat couldn't
do it alone and he wanted to help a friend that also saved his life. Overall this
book was interesting with fast action and excitement.

Childhood Favorite Freak the Mighty Response

I have just finished rereading my childhood favorite book called Freak the Mighty. When I first read this book was when I was in 3rd grade. The first time I didn't noticed most details. For example Freak and Max doesn't seem likely that they would have became friends. Max is tall and Freak is short. They were both teased because of their size. It was because of their similarities that brought them together. It was very cool because I liked how Rodman Philbrick makes the voice of each character just like their personality.
What's interesting was that Freak is smart enough to look up his own disease and then afterward not even tell Max that he was going to die. I think he's mature for his age and didn't want Max to be sad. After all Freak was his only friend and he knows Max will have to keep moving forward without him.
